About The Position
Owner Operator position operating dedicated General Electric dry van lanes based in Jacksonville, Florida. Routes cover Florida, Georgia, and Alabama; most loads remain in Florida, with occasional deliveries to south Georgia or just beyond Pensacola into Alabama. Drivers are home nightly about 90% of the time and stay out one night per week. Runs are Monday through Friday, with occasional optional Saturday work. Appointments are typically early morning, between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., so driving may take place at night or early in the morning. The shipper uses drop-and-hook, while receivers require live unloading. Drivers are preferred to live in Jacksonville or very nearby and are required to live in Jacksonville. Weekly gross average is $3,000–$4,000, with an average weekly take-home amount of $1,800–$2,600 after deductions. Pay is mileage-based: loaded miles pay $1.350 per mile plus fuel surcharge, and empty miles pay $1.00 per mile plus 50% fuel surcharge. Loads under 225 miles from Jacksonville receive additional pay, though the amount is not specified. A trailer rental fee of $85 per week applies.
Requirements
- Class A CDL required.
- Truck must be a sleeper truck, model year 2000 or newer.
- At least 12 months of experience within the past 3 years.
- Must live in Jacksonville, Florida.

Responsibilities
