About The Position

The Owl Bar Server is responsible for ensuring the server stations and floor, including the patio, are set and ready for service to the Sundance standard. This role involves completing designated opening and closing responsibilities, maintaining a neat and clean appearance in compliance with health code, and wearing a complete, clean, designated, wrinkle-free uniform and name tag. The server must ensure the proper sequence of service is completed for all guests, warmly greet all Owl Bar guests, and inform them of daily specials, signature drinks/dishes, and personal recommendations. Orders must be entered accurately into the point of sale system, and accurate payment for food and beverages must be collected. The position requires knowledge and compliance with Utah liquor laws and responsible service of alcoholic beverages. The server will learn all drinks and gain knowledge of wines, attend regular trainings, and prepare and/or serve drinks, along with serving food to bar patrons. They will also prepare all drinks/wine for guests in the absence of the bartender, learn all food on the bar menu, and ensure a pleasant dining experience for bar guests. Additional duties include setting up and stocking at the beginning and end of each shift, changing draft beer kegs, stocking beer, wine, juices, liquor, and fruit, keeping the floor and patios clean and organized, ensuring the server station is clean, sharing the history of the Owl Bar with guests, gathering wood for the fireplace and building a fire when appropriate, and transporting dirty dishes to the kitchen dishwasher.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have or obtain a current alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
