About The Position

In this role, you support the planning, design, and execution of facilities for expansion and maintenance of capital projects, delivered through third-party engineering firms. You'll work closely with the engineering lead and team, to define project scope, schedule, cost and risk, and provide ongoing oversight to ensure design deliverables meet Company requirements, applicable regulations, industry codes, and corporate standards. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a Mechanical focus from an accredited university.
• Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
• 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management.
• A valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Engineering Lead and multi-disciplinary team in the development and execution of facility expansion and maintenance capital projects.
• Support the development of project scope, schedule, capital cost estimates, execution plans, risk assessments, and supporting documentation for assigned facility projects.
• Ensure project scope definitions comply with all regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements through effective management and coordination of internal functional groups.
• Ensure all facilities are designed in accordance with applicable regulations, industry codes, and corporate standards.
• Manage the execution of design deliverables by third-party engineering firms to meet project budget and schedule requirements.
• Review and approve engineering design deliverables, including drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets.
• Review vendor quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend equipment and material selections based on technical merit, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Support commissioning and startup activities for newly installed facilities, as required.
• Review lessons learned from completed projects and incorporate applicable recommendations into future designs and project execution strategies.
• Supports and/or leads businesses initiatives e.g. cost saving opportunities in line with business justifications for projects.
