About The Position

This role involves teaching resident’s new skills, supporting challenging behaviors, and assisting with daily routines such as bathing, toileting, and dressing. Responsibilities include supervising residents, maintaining a safe environment, documenting programs and incidents, and managing client cases. The position also includes developing and accessing behavior and skill programs, handling emergencies, and providing input to staff and the Program Director. For the overnight shift, staff remain awake to provide 24-hour supervision, with bed checks documented every 15 minutes.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of experience working with youth OR thirty (30) semester hours of college credit and one (1) year of experience with youth OR an Associate’s Degree.
  • Ability to perform 15-minute bed checks and remain awake throughout overnight shifts.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within 30 days) and five years of driving experience.
  • Ability to pass FBI, CBI, and TRAILS background checks.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, collaborate effectively as a team member, and communicate respectfully.
  • Requires sufficient range of physical strength, endurance, and mobility to assist in household activities and behavioral interventions.
  • Must be able to lift, push pull to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements.
  • Must be able to successfully completion of the core Safety Care (Crisis Intervention Training) training and maintain certification.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
  • Requires adequate range of hearing and vision to properly supervise residents.
  • Requires mental flexibility, emotional stability, personal maturity, and creativity in dealing with difficult situations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily routines, behavior management, and program completion.
  • Manage client cases, including treatment plans, documentation, and resource coordination.
  • Maintain professional communication with families, schools, and other stakeholders.
  • Complete required documentation and handle emergencies per procedures.
  • Support and mentor staff, perform administrative tasks, and attend trainings.
  • Administer medications and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Promote trauma-informed care and address vicarious trauma through self-care and supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
