About The Position

Advanced Veterinary Care (AVC) is a brand new state-of-the-art urgent care and specialty hospital located in Orlando, Florida. Requirements

  • Prior veterinary experience is required.
  • Proficient in drug calculation and strong anesthetic skills.
  • Display competency in general knowledge and nursing skills required to care for patients.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Veterinary ER or Urgent Care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests (blood work, x-rays), assist in surgeries, and provide post-operative care.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, patient records, and respond to changes or issues.
  • Provide CPR and other life-saving techniques when necessary.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely for examinations and treatments.
  • Communicate with pet owners about their animal's condition and treatment plans.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, sterilize surgical instruments, and assist with intake and discharge.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment like ventilators and IV pumps.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments and triage.
  • Experience with anesthetic induction, monitoring, IV catheter placement, and advanced nursing care.
