About The Position

Small Animal Emergency Services is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Technician to provide exceptional emergency and critical care for pets in Vass, NC. This busy emergency hospital sees an average of 500 patients each month and is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and therapeutic laser technology. The diverse caseload offers continual opportunities to challenge and expand clinical skills while making a meaningful impact on the lives of pets and their families. This role is ideal for someone looking for a collaborative, fast-paced environment where medicine is rewarding, cases are varied, and every day brings new opportunities to learn. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday: 06:00 pm ~ 08:00 am and Saturday & Sunday: 24 Hours.

Requirements

Minimum of 2+ years of experience required
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
Experience and familiarity with anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
Knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
Compassionate and calm team-player
Ability to multi-task
Strong communication skills
Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts

Nice To Haves

A registered veterinary technician is preferred
ER experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

Animal restraint
Triage of incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples

Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
