Overnight Therapist - License Eligible
About The Position
The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a Licensed or License Eligible Therapist to join the team at the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center. The center provides urgent behavioral health services for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, including therapy, medication management, suicide prevention, and crisis intervention in a supportive, therapeutic environment. This position provides therapeutic services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use concerns at the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center. The Therapist works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing rapid assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, psychiatric and medical monitoring, stabilization, and discharge planning. The BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center uses a brief-stay approach focused on reducing acute symptoms and helping individuals avoid hospitalization when appropriate.
Requirements
- Licensed Therapist: Licensed as a Mental Health Clinician such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
- Licensed Therapist: Two (2) years post-graduate clinical experience including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention and case management functions.
- Licensed Therapist: Must be eligible or approved for MCO credentialing.
- Licensed Eligible Therapist: Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling
- Licensed Eligible Therapist: One (1) year of clinical experience including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention, and case management functions.
- Licensed Eligible Therapist: Must provide proof of registration for supervision toward licensure with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (LPC or LCSW) within 90 days of employment.
- Must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
Responsibilities
- Provides therapeutic services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use concerns at the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center.
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing rapid assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, psychiatric and medical monitoring, stabilization, and discharge planning.
- Reduces acute symptoms and helps individuals avoid hospitalization when appropriate.
