Requirements

  • 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in Food & Beverage or Stewarding
  • Previous cleaning experience required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications preferred
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Nice To Haves

  • University/College degree in a related discipline an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Stewarding and Housekeeping overnight teams in all aspects of the department and ensure standards are followed
  • Coach housemen and public area attendant on any discrepancies in their areas
  • Submit maintenance reports/requests in Alice and follow up for completion
  • Check appearance of all employees to ensure compliance with Fairmont standards of appearance
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other areas assigned
  • Maintain inventory and record keeping for all dinnerware, flatware and glassware, order china, glass and silver
  • Make routine inspections of all equipment and kitchen areas to ensure that cleanliness and sanitary procedures are maintained
  • Ensure all breakages and chipped items are taken out of circulation and inventoried
  • Ensure all equipment is in working order and report any items in need of repair
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA requirements
  • Monitor and control labor costs
  • Partner with Hotel Security when handling emergency situations such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, and systems outages
  • Other duties as assigned
