This role is for an exceptional Overnight Stocking Manager to join Meijer within West Grand Rapids store locations. It is great for anyone with experience in shipping/receiving, as it supports the backroom with inventory and daily truck receiving. The Overnight Stocking Manager is responsible for overall team member engagement, including recognition, feedback, coaching, performance management, training, development, and succession planning. The manager directs Leads and Team Leaders, and is accountable for area operations and financials (shrink, productivity, safety, scheduling, forecasting staffing needs, and team member/customer conflict resolution). The role involves identifying and implementing process improvements and serving as a steward of the Meijer culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members providing clear and precise direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
  • A strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Engages with team members to ensure appropriate onboarding, training, development, coaching, and feedback.
  • Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support overall store staffing and ensure a diversified talent pipeline for team member and leadership roles.
  • Involves candid discussions with team members to ensure Meijer standards are upheld and team members can grow within the organization.
  • Accountable for area operations and financial results by overseeing the execution of corporate plans to ensure services and products are effectively managed to maximize sales and productivity, owning budget line items in the P&L.
  • Drives safety and compliance throughout the store, including overall condition management and adherence to all compliance procedures.
  • Ensures Team Leaders and Leads provide guidance, assign daily work, and address training needs for team members.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or required.
