A Security Supervisor at Catholic Charities promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values, and Code of Ethics. The supervisor oversees the daily operations of the safety and security team at their assigned location and keeps the Security Manager and Director informed of staff morale, staff resources, and needs, and items impacting safety and security operations. The supervisor is on call for consultation and intervention after hours and during weekends, on a rotating schedule with other leaders. They carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency’s values and policies, and applicable laws. Duties may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. The supervisor provides leadership, training, and development to team members and works closely with the leadership team to plan and execute safety improvement initiatives. They serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters at the assigned location, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues. They coordinate with all shelter sites, in partnership with the Manager, to ensure security measures meet their specific needs. They address and resolve requests and complaints regarding safety and security in a timely and satisfactory manner, and ensure the security team is adequately trained and prepared to respond to emergencies. The supervisor also completes necessary administrative duties (e.g., paperwork) accurately and on time, including the approval of employee timecards, PAL/EIB requests, training requests, HESK tickets, etc.
