Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand comprehensive correspondence, memos, and reports.
  • Ability to accurately document security related observations and incidents.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, guests, members, and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in English to customers, guests, members, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply understanding based on company policies and procedures in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • All employees in this position must obtain and maintain current CPR & First Aid Training Certification.
  • Must drive a company vehicle, a valid California Drivers License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality service to guests that meets or exceeds expectations by anticipating guests’ needs and always maintaining a polite, friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Assists guests with luggage, obtains taxicabs, answers inquiries and delivers amenities.
  • Stands guard at designated post.
  • Permits authorized persons to enter property.
  • Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at property entrances to maintain orderly flow.
  • Patrols buildings and grounds of the property to ensure the safety and security of members, guests, visitors, and employees.
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are locked and secure.
  • Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, trespassing, or carrying forbidden articles.
  • Escorts persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts off property.
  • Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
  • Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
  • Assists guests with directions and instructions as needed.
  • Observes departing personnel and conducts random property inspections.
  • Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment for use of supervisory staff.
  • Responsible for proper tracking of guest and employee laundry.
  • Is familiar with different room types and property layout.
  • Delivers newspapers and mail and responds to other guest requests.
  • Provides assistance to Housekeeping and other departments during periods of high volume if requested by Manager.
  • Responds to noise complaints.
  • Uses designated codes to communicate via radio to other Property Service Agents and staff.
  • Covers Property Services Ambassadors booth when needed.
  • Attends regularly scheduled department meetings.
  • Must drive a company vehicle, a valid California Drivers License is required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
