About The Position

Hotel Equities is seeking a remarkable Overnight Security Officer for the Chamberlain West Hollywood in West Hollywood, CA. This role is critical in maintaining the safety and security of guests, employees, and the property. Responsibilities include overseeing access control, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding promptly to security incidents and emergencies. The officer serves as the first point of contact for guests and visitors, ensuring all security protocols are followed. This position requires vigilance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. In addition to security duties, this role supports valet operations by safely parking and retrieving guest vehicles while delivering exceptional customer service. The goal is to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment through proactive security practices and outstanding guest service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California Security Guard License (Guard Card).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in security or a related field.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in hospitality or valet services.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry luggage and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in residential, commercial, or hospitality security environments.
  • Experience working in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality setting.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with security technology, including CCTV and alarm systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution and emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Familiarity with the West Hollywood area and local attractions.
  • Certification in customer service or hospitality training programs.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the property by verifying identification and authorizing entry for guests, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify and deter suspicious activity or potential security risks.
  • Operate and monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, accidents, and other incidents, coordinating with emergency responders when necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and security documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests and visitors with questions, directions, and general assistance while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Enforce property policies and procedures consistently, professionally, and respectfully.
  • Assist with valet operations as needed, including safely parking and retrieving guest vehicles.
  • Assist guests with luggage and other transportation-related requests when appropriate.
  • Report maintenance, safety, or security concerns to the appropriate departments.
