Overnight Residential Counselor - Full Time/Part Time
About The Position
Evolve Treatment Centers offers residential and outpatient treatment programs for teens aged 12-17 struggling with mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral issues. The Overnight Residential Counselor will be responsible for the safety and supervision of clients in a 6-bed residential treatment center. This role requires the counselor to stay awake all night to ensure client safety, perform light cleaning duties, and conduct inventory checks. The ideal candidate is dedicated, patient, and a reliable team player, with opportunities for training and growth. This position may involve exposure to COVID-19, and Evolve adheres to all state and local safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to stay awake all night
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have at least 6-9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse
- Have 6-9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting
- All schedules require at least 1 weekend shift
- Must be able to pass a LiveScan background check and clear federal and state criminal background checks, and child abuse indexes
- Possess a valid California driver’s license
- Must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients, as needed
Nice To Haves
- College coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous overnight shift experience preferred
- Previous work or volunteer experience with teens or working in a group home (teens or adults)
Responsibilities
- Be awake, alert, and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am)
- Ensure clients are in bed all night and maintain line of sight of clients at all times
- Check on clients every 15 minutes
- Walk through the facility and perform maintenance checks
- Assist with inventory checks and notify the facility manager of any issues
- Document all shift activity in KIPU
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility
- Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings
