About The Position

Monitors youth to provide a safe environment overnight. Your Calm Can Change a Life – Join Us as an Overnight Program Staff in Omaha, NE! Starting Pay: $19.00/hour Status: Full-Time Shift: 10:15 PM – 6:30 AM | Includes weekends and holidays. If you're a night owl with a passion for protecting and guiding youth, this is your opportunity to make a real difference while they rest. As an Overnight Program Staff, you’ll provide a safe, structured environment during the overnight hours, ensuring the wellbeing of children in care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and stay alert throughout the shift
  • Requires agility, stamina, and emotional resilience
  • Work involves both indoor and occasional outdoor environments
  • This position requires driving in various weather conditions, including rain, snow and ice.
  • Reasonably expected to have and maintain sufficient, agility, and endurance to perform all job requirements (including stressful situations – physically, mentally, and emotionally) encountered on the job without compromising their health and well-being or that of their fellow employees, youth, or families.
  • Must have sufficient ability to see, hear, speak, and mobility to monitor youth, assist and perform daily household chores, and participate in activities with youth.
  • Includes constant interruptions, inappropriate behaviors, and the potential for verbal and physical threats from youth.

  • Prior experience with youth or in residential care is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitor youth throughout the night to maintain safety and security
  • Remain alert, circulate regularly, and respond to any incidents
  • Report safety concerns or behavior issues promptly
  • Record overnight activity and maintain communication with team
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Assist youth when medical or physical needs arise
  • Transport youth as needed using a Boys Town vehicle
  • Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
