About The Position

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking team members to join their World-Class Team. This role involves sorting, displaying, removing, and replenishing fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The position requires maintaining the department's environment, assisting members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensuring all produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. Team members are expected to carry out assigned job functions, support club policies, and strive for flawless execution with honesty and integrity. They should ensure a safe and positive environment, embrace inclusion and diversity, work collaboratively, and move with speed and agility. A friendly and positive attitude is essential. This includes maintaining a grand opening look daily, ensuring all items are stocked, promotional plans are executed, signage is accurate, and the club is clean and organized. Team members should understand how to read performance reporting and see the connection between consistent execution and business impact.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

• Work experience in a produce department preferred.
• Knowledge of fruit and vegetables preferred, including seasonal items.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members in the produce department, answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and assisting Members with finding products.
• Inspects, rotates, and stores produce upon delivery, ensuring all received produce meets or exceeds company produce standards.
• Rotates produce on the sales floor to ensure optimal freshness and variety, ensuring cases and display areas are fully stocked.
• Keeps the produce displays neat and clean and removes products that are no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintains the produce reserve stock area, dating and rotating all back stock items, and ensuring the storage area is organized and condensed daily.
• Follows established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, and/or expired products.
• Assists Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generates signage for produce goods and performs price check functions when necessary, ensuring all items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
