About The Position

Assisting Hands Littleton is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide overnight care for a client living with memory loss. This role focuses on providing a safe, comfortable, and reassuring presence during the overnight hours, emphasizing meaningful one-on-one relationships rather than a fast-paced facility environment. The ideal candidate will have a heart for memory care and a desire to make a significant difference in an individual's life.

Requirements

At least 1 year of caregiving experience in a facility or with an in-home care agency.
Experience caring for someone with Alzheimer's, dementia, or another memory-related condition.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
Three professional references.
TB test within 30 days of hire.
Excellent communication skills.
A patient, compassionate personality and a genuine heart for older adults.
Comfortable working in a home with cats.

Responsibilities

Provide memory care support with patience, reassurance, and gentle redirection.
Assist with getting ready for bed and settling into the evening.
Offer companionship and engage in meaningful conversation.
Provide support if the client wakes during the night.
Assist with snacks, hydration, or other needs as appropriate.
Offer encouragement and reassurance when the client becomes confused or unsettled.
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment throughout the shift.
Support with the morning routine as the overnight shift comes to an end.
Be a calm, reassuring presence for the client.
Provide a familiar face, a calm voice, and reassurance when the night feels confusing.
Be comfortable working around cats in the home.
