Requirements

  • Three-year certificate form college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardize situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or craw; talk to hear, and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains all mechanical equipment, such as air handlers, air compressors, refrigeration units, hot water boilers, exhaust fans, pneumatic controls, air conditioning equipment, and emergency power equipment.
  • Read meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
  • Record data such as temperature of the equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance as directed.
  • Visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustments, or lubrication.
  • Oil and lubricate equipment.
  • Record operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in operators’ logbook.
  • Tour building and check all weekly events each day.
  • Check with Chief Engineer for assignment of daily projects.
  • Check all lighting in the public areas as well as outside the building, and temperature in all meeting rooms prior to start of meeting.
  • Preventive maintenance of all air conditioning, and heating equipment as well as kitchen equipment each month. Work on PM program in the sleeping rooms.
  • Keep engineering shop neat at all times and remove of trash as needed.
  • Complete all assigned daily work tickets. Ensure cleanliness of site after ach project.
  • Maintain equipment by trouble shooting and repairing all electrical, plumbing and gas equipment. Able to read instructions and follow through with completing each task as given.
  • Respond to fire alarms.
  • Respond and resolve in house maintenance issues.
  • Responsible for hotel perimeter snow removal.
