Overnight Maintenance Supervisor
About The Position
This role is responsible for leading Skilled Tradesmen in problem resolution, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. The supervisor will actively participate in projects to enhance overall performance and direct activities to attain production goals consistent with safety, quality, delivery, housekeeping, and waste elimination. The position involves reviewing root cause analysis to evaluate equipment and manpower resource requirements, ensuring consistent application of plant policies and procedures, and coordinating with other departments. The supervisor will also assist in establishing budgets and resource requirements for planned maintenance and manufacturing projects, including forecasting manpower, equipment, and material needs. Compliance with health, safety, and environmental programs is essential, as is handling discipline and commendation on the assigned shift, all while working within the guidelines of the union contract and establishing/monitoring standardized work.
Requirements
- Equivalent leadership experience in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in motivating and mentoring employees, long-range planning, formulating and business strategies.
- Demonstrated problem resolution skills.
- Strong manufacturing and business knowledge.
- Able to operate PC based software programs and automated business systems.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong presentation skills required.
- Team building and conflict management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering and/or holds a Journeymen card with 8 years of experience; or equivalent or combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

- Accountable for consistent application of policy and procedures throughout the plant, including both attendance and corrective action.
- Coordinating and leading activities with other functions such as operations, materials, engineering, quality and any other departments, as necessary.
- Assisting in establishing budgets and resource requirements for planned maintenance and manufacturing projects, including forecasting manpower, equipment and material needs.
- Complying with and supporting the health, safety and environmental programs, including policies and procedures.
- Handling discipline and commendation on his/her assigned shift.
- Working within the guidelines of the union contract.
- Establishing and monitoring standardized work.
