About The Position

The Overnight Facilities Supervisor – Floor Care is responsible for leading floor care technicians and machine operators while also actively participating in floor care operations as needed. This role ensures high standards of appearance, safety, and floor condition across large, high-traffic facilities. The supervisor oversees daily workflows, quality control, training, and equipment performance across expansive square footage and is expected to step in and perform hands-on floor care work alongside the team when required.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in commercial floor care, janitorial services, or facilities services required
  • Experience supervising teams in large, high-traffic environments preferred
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of floor care machinery, chemicals, and restoration techniques
  • Proven ability to work in a lead role while actively performing the work
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and training skills
  • Ability to work flexible overnight schedules including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must pass location-based background screening required for site access/badging
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain site security badge access where required
  • Must comply with all applicable security and safety regulations
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements including standing, walking large distances, and operating heavy-duty floor equipment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of floor care technicians and machine operators
  • Actively perform floor care duties alongside team members as needed to support production and service levels
  • Oversee all floor care operations including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, carpet extraction, and restorative floor maintenance
  • Operate and ensure proper use of industrial floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, strippers, extractors, and sweepers
  • Assign and manage work zones across large square footage areas and multiple facility sections
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure floor quality standards, safety compliance, and client expectations are met
  • Train and coach team members on floor care techniques, equipment operation, and chemical safety
  • Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed
  • Ensure accurate documentation of completed work, inspections, and shift activity reports
  • Respond to urgent floor care needs such as spills, scuffing, or safety hazards
  • Enforce company policies and site-specific operational standards related to floor care
  • Support onboarding and certification of new floor care team members
