About The Position

HealthRIGHT 360 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible healthcare to vulnerable populations, aiming to overcome systemic barriers and promote health equity. The organization offers a comprehensive range of services including mental health care, substance use treatment, and primary health services, along with transitional support for individuals re-entering the community from the criminal justice system. HealthRIGHT 360 integrates physical and behavioral health to empower individuals through addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery. The Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) is a residential facility for adult males with less than two years remaining on their prison sentences. This program allows eligible individuals to complete their sentences in the community, offering rehabilitative services focused on substance use disorder (SUD), mental health, primary care, employment, education, housing, family reunification, and social support. Treatment duration typically ranges from 6 to 12 months. The Overnight Client Safety Navigator (CSN) is an in-person role responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. This role involves collaborating with program leadership, law enforcement, and other teams to respond to emergencies such as drug use, overdose, and program disruptions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possess a valid First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Qualified candidates with a criminal record will be considered for employment.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check.
  • Must be capable of meeting health screening and tuberculosis testing requirements.
  • Must be capable of meeting program and funding requirements.
  • Must be capable of obtaining clearance and maintaining agency vehicle insurance coverage, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Valid California Driver’s License preferred.
  • Two years of job-related experience working with the criminal justice population or with the community behavioral health system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure and maintain a safe and orderly environment for clients, staff, and visitors in compliance with agency and industry standards.
  • Monitor security cameras, attend building security meetings, and work collaboratively with service providers and administrative staff.
  • Clear areas of crowds, debris, and out-of-place items to maintain safety.
  • Direct and deflect traffic, de-escalate tense situations, and maintain a positive, respectful demeanor even during high-pressure situations.
  • Work collaboratively with other service providers and administrative staff to maintain an orderly environment.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and adhere to the organization’s code of conduct.
  • Make regular rounds to monitor entrances, exits, offices, common areas, and building perimeters.
  • Work with local law enforcement and file incident reports as needed.
  • Transport clients as needed during emergencies, if applicable.
  • Remain alert and stay awake during the entire overnight shift.
  • Maintain client and visitor logs.
  • Welcome and assist clients returning from appointments, ensure sign-in, and check belongings for contraband.
  • Welcome visitors, check credentials, ensure sign-in, and escort them to the supervisor on duty.
  • Answer and direct calls or messages.
  • Provide resources and information to clients and guests as needed.
  • Carry Narcan, recognize signs of overdose, and administer Narcan as necessary to reverse drug overdose.
  • De-escalate emotionally charged situations and maintain non-confrontational behavior during observation and intervention.
  • Complete necessary documentation in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other funding requirements to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
  • Attend and participate in meetings.
  • Participate in and complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Read and respond to messages and emails when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
