About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall appearance of all front-of-house and back-of-house areas throughout the hotel during overnight hours. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the property is fully prepared for guests, team members, and daily operations each morning. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards in a luxury or boutique hotel environment.

Requirements

Previous hotel, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Reliable attendance and punctuality required
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain all public guest areas including: Lobby, Front desk area, Elevators and elevator landings, Public restrooms, Hallways and corridors, Meeting and event spaces, Restaurants, bars, and lounges, Fitness center and additional guest amenities
Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust surfaces, polish fixtures, and remove debris
Clean glass doors, mirrors, windows, and high-touch surfaces
Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners
Ensure all entrances remain clean, organized and presentable
Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damage immediately
Maintain cleanliness of all employee and operational areas including: Kitchens and food preparation areas, Dishwashing areas, Employee break rooms, Offices and administrative spaces, Storage rooms, Service corridors, Laundry facilities, Loading dock and receiving areas
Deep clean floors, walls, drains, equipment exteriors, and work surfaces
Assist with periodic deep-cleaning projects as assigned
Properly store and maintain cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety standards
Follow all hotel cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards
Safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor machines, vacuums, and carpet cleaners
Respond promptly to overnight cleaning requests from hotel leadership
Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
Work independently with minimal supervision while completing assigned nightly tasks
Support other departments as needed to ensure operational readiness for the next business day
