About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility, supporting an outstanding member experience and the safety of members and team members. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing common areas, operating cleaning and laundry equipment, replenishing supplies, maintaining cleaning equipment, and reporting inventory needs or broken and missing amenities to the Club Manager. The role may also involve greeting members and guests, answering phones, assisting with inquiries and concerns, processing retail transactions, supporting sales goals, and walking the club to address safety, policy, and cleanliness issues. The position requires the ability to work overnight and includes continual movement and communication, lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent cleaning and sanitizing, and exposure to toxic chemicals.

Requirements

Ability to work the overnight shift.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Positive, upbeat, dependable, and punctual, with attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
Ability to work independently and supportively as part of a team; communicate effectively and ask questions when needed.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand and move continually throughout the club and communicate in person or by phone during the shift.
Ability to bend and twist to accomplish tasks and frequently clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to an established schedule.
Dispose of trash and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed.
Communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit, and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas and promptly address safety, policy, and cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
