About The Position

As an Overnight Camp Summer Intern, you will work directly with our Camp Staff who oversee the successful operation of two Girl Scout camp sites located in Troy and Pevely. This internship will be approximately 20-30 hours per week and is eligible for college credit, if applicable. Interns are paid minimum wage (currently $15 per hour worked). You will gain experience in outdoor education, recreation, and youth development. You will develop skills in youth program facilitation, communication, and event management. You will learn camp best practices. You will be a part of making a meaningful impact for Girl Scout campers throughout the summer season.

Requirements

  • Interns must be enrolled in a graduate, bachelor's or associate's degree program and have completed at least one (1) semester of college.
  • Interns must be pursuing a degree relevant to the role.
  • Interns may or may not receive academic credit for the internship.
  • If an intern seeks academic credit for the internship, it is up to the intern to establish this through their educational institution.
  • Internships are temporary assignments offered for up to a maximum of four (4) semester periods.
  • Intern work scheduled may vary depending upon course credit requirements, intern scheduling preferences, needs for time off, etc.
  • Interns may work up to twenty (20) hours per week during the school year and up to thirty (30) hours per week during the summer.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with camp operations for programs (will not need to stay overnight)
  • Prepare for upcoming camps with program staff.
  • Lead groups and activities.
  • Support the overall camp experience.
