About The Position

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking highly skilled and experienced Distribution Journeyman Linemen to join their dynamic and dedicated team. Requirements

Must have completed the FPL apprentice lineman program or another recognized program.
Must be proficient with live line maintenance, including the use of hot sticks and the FPL gloving procedures.
Must possess climbing skills.
Must be able to work in direct sunlight or at night.
Must be physically able to do all assigned tasks.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid CDL.

Nice To Haves

Held and/or worked in the classification of Line Specialist or its equivalent for twenty-four (24) months (for Power Quality Line Specialist position).
Proficient with live line maintenance (gloving) up to twenty three (23) KV and the use of hot sticks for all voltages.
Bucket Truck Rescue Certification.
Pole Top Rescue Certification.
Tower Rescue Certification.

Responsibilities

Safely perform all associated tasks with the construction and maintenance of all overhead and underground facilities (excluding vaults, manholes, and hot compounds).
Safely trouble shoot and repair all distribution circuits and equipment.
Prepare all associated paperwork.
Work alone or be assigned to work with one (1) person in a lower classification (e.g., groundman, apprentice, or helper) without direct supervision of a foreman.
Work all jobs in accordance with company design standards and work methods.
May be required to work extended hours in inclement weather.
May be required to travel throughout the system in cases of emergencies, storms, to restore the system.
