Experienced Overhead Crane/Material Handler - Fabrication

JGM•Sinking Spring, PA
•$22 - $27•Onsite

About The Position

At JGM, Material Handlers are the heartbeat of our operation—keeping steel moving, teams working, and projects on track. If you’ve worked in a warehouse, construction site, or any hands-on role, this is your chance to step into a high-impact career. This role involves moving structural steel and materials across the yard and shop, loading/unloading trucks using forklifts, cranes, and equipment, organizing, tagging, and tracking materials for production, and supporting machine operators by staging materials and keeping workflows moving. You will also perform basic equipment checks and keep operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Experience in warehouse, construction, or hands-on work
  • Comfort with physical work (lifting, moving, working outdoors)
  • Ability to work independently on 2nd shift while staying aligned with the team
  • Strong awareness of production flow and how to support machine operators
  • Safety-first mindset and strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn equipment and grow your skills
  • 2+ years of forklift operation, ideally sit-down counterbalance or large-capacity lifts handling long or heavy loads (beams, pipe, lumber, precast).
  • Overhead or bridge crane experience, including basic rigging with slings, chokers, clamps, magnets, and spreader bars.
  • Background in a steel service center, metal supply yard, fab shop, lumber yard, precast plant, or building supply yard.
  • Transferable backgrounds that also work: warehouse, construction laborer, farm, landscaping, or any job running equipment outdoors.
  • Physical work: lifting 50+ lbs regularly, being on their feet all shift, and working outdoors in all weather.
  • A track record on 2nd shift or other independent shifts with less supervision, showing reliability and attendance.
  • A clean safety record and the ability to describe specific safety habits, such as tag lines, keeping clear of suspended loads, and spotters.

Nice To Haves
