About The Position

Elkhart Plastics, a Myers Industries company, is one of the largest custom rotational molding companies in the United States with over 500 employees and 33 years in business. They specialize in creating custom plastics in virtually every application imaginable and an almost endless variety of shapes and thicknesses, serving industries from storage tanks to boat seating and agricultural applications to intermediate bulk containers and plastic pallets. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating molding equipment to produce various molded products to efficiency and quality standards.

Requirements

Good communication skills
Good organizational skills
Ability to read and write proficiently in English
Ability to use hand and power tools
Ability to operate and maintain industrial equipment
Able to work in hot humid environment for extended periods of time.
Must be able to remain stationary with intermediate walking throughout the shift.
Frequently lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and parts more than 50 pounds with assistance and must be able to transport these up to 20 feet.
Frequently positions self to maneuver around the parts, materials, and molds.
Must be able to operate the hand and tools and write legible.

Responsibilities

Ensures that all necessary information and tools required for each job are in place before work begins.
Pull and review setup sheets prior to starting a job.
Maintains equipment required for molding machines.
Stages product properly after molding and move to required staging locations.
Complete all assigned projects by due date.
Review production priorities.
Must meet or exceed all training requirements including those related to ISO standards and attends scheduled shift meetings or other meetings required.
Meets or exceeds production targets.
Produces molded product using various methods designated for the job.
Inspects product for conformance to quality standards
