About The Position

The Dishwasher/Porter ensures that the kitchen runs smoothly by maintaining cleanliness and organizing the dishwashing area. The Dishwasher/Porter plays a crucial part in keeping the kitchen stocked, clean, and safe, allowing our culinary team to focus on preparing exceptional dishes for our guests.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • No prior experience required, though experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is a plus
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a hot, noisy, and sometimes crowded kitchen environment

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including floors, counters, and sinks.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, including food and non-food items, in the appropriate storage areas.
  • Ensure all dishes and equipment are properly sanitized and stored after washing.
  • Take out trash and recycling in accordance with restaurant guidelines.
  • Help maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing floors.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff and wait staff to ensure a constant flow of clean dishes and utensils.
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including cleaning kitchen equipment and storage areas.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed, including stocking supplies and maintaining kitchen organization.
