About The Position
Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has multiple exciting opportunities for an Outside Scheduler for our office in Norfolk. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Nice To Haves
- Five years medical office experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Responsibilities
- Schedules physician referrals and/or outside testing and labs as directed by physician
- Obtains necessary insurance authorization
- Communicates to patients the type of test, any necessary prep, and date/time/location of appointment
- Follows up on all tests to ensure completion prior to next visit with physician
- Researches and responds to routine and non-routine inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Other duties as assigned
