About The Position

The Outside Sales Representative will manage, retain, and grow an established customer base throughout MA, RI, and CT. This role involves developing new opportunities within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CDMO, and related life science accounts. The representative will sell across Casella's portfolio, including valves, pumps, gaskets, hoses, fittings, single-use assemblies, mixing systems, and other bioprocess equipment and components. Key aspects of the role include building relationships with engineering, manufacturing, operations, procurement, and other key customer stakeholders, understanding customer processes to identify value-adding opportunities, developing account strategies, and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline. Collaboration with internal technical resources and supplier partners to develop customer solutions is essential, as is maintaining accurate customer and opportunity information in the CRM system. The ultimate goal is to consistently achieve sales and profitability objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background and knowledge of bioprocessing and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience with stainless steel/reusable and single-use process equipment and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence decisions within a customer organization.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial mindset with the drive, competitiveness, and initiative required to develop and win business.
  • Ability to identify customer needs, ask effective questions, and translate technical knowledge into solutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of results.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Southern New England.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct sales experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong industry experience and demonstrated sales potential.
