About The Position

Sells company products or services in assigned area or territory (Would include utility, industrial, etc.). Must learn, promote, and provide technical support for various lines of (EX: fiber and communication products). Builds customer relationships to create new accounts and grow existing customer base to increase territory’s overall profitability. Promote and sell products in compliance with company pricing policies to achieve maximum gross profit margin. Demonstrates products or services and provides assistance in the best application of products or services. Answers all questions concerning a product or service, with appropriate referrals where required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Effective negotiation skills with the ability to overcome adversity
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to focus, prioritize, multi-task and follow through on commitments
  • 5 years of experience in electrical or electrical distribution industry
  • 2 years in outside sales role in relevant industry
  • Proven success in building customer relationships through cold calling, networking, and prospecting.
  • Solid computer skills in ERP and MS Office

Responsibilities

  • Closes transactions and takes orders.
  • Submits time and expense reports to management.
  • Investigates product/service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies.
  • Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management.
  • Contacts prospects and explains features and merits of products or services offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
  • Calculates and quotes prices.
  • May coordinate company technical engineering support and services to ascertain customers' needs.
  • Work with Director of regional sales and management to develop business plans, achieve sales goals and keep informed of local competition and market conditions.
  • Continuously develops a strong understanding of products, features, and benefits to effectively support customer and business goals.
