About The Position

Metals USA is seeking an Outside Sales Representative for our Randleman, NC location. The ideal candidate will reside in Tennessee and cover a territory including Randleman, NC, Cartersville, GA, and Jeffersonville, IN. Metals USA is a leading metals processor/distributor in North America, specializing in carbon steel products and serving industries such as defense, commercial construction, and road construction and fabrication. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of industrial aluminum and stainless-steel sales, fabrication, and/or industrial sales.
  • Experience in calculating proportions, circumference and volume required.
  • Experience in selling in the industrial market, B2B selling, fabrication experience a plus.
  • Must have a professional demeanor and an ability to communicate effectively with executive level individuals from various industries.
  • Ability to learn new skills and technology as it pertains to business and fabrication needs.
  • Basic mathematics and computer skills (Microsoft Office Products).
  • A solid understanding of the aluminum and stainless-steel industries.
  • A full understanding of sales, customer relations, aluminum, and stainless-steel processing.
  • A valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with blueprint and cad drawings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue by cold calling if necessary.
  • Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Account Managers with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources.
  • Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
  • Use marketing data using applicable sales management tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
  • Cover assigned accounts promoting products and services.
  • Establish customer profit margins.
  • Provide value-added services such as: Documented cost savings, plant surveys, technical support, and product training.
  • Build and maintain our customer base by focusing on assessing customer needs, building relationships, and meeting our goals as a customer-driven company.
  • Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase the organization's sales.
  • Resolve customer issues, research, and make recommendations for potential product enhancements or modifications to increase sales.
  • Schedule and perform cold and sales calls to existing customers in assigned territory.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts, quotes and/or negotiations.
  • Sales call planning.
  • Carry out other sales functions as assigned by Manager.
