About The Position

Based in York Region, telMAX is a private equity-backed all fibre digital infrastructure platform that provides a 21st century alternative to traditional telecom networks. Recognized for four consecutive years as Canada’s Fastest ISP with an industry-leading net promoter score of over fifty, telMAX is continuing its rapid growth plan to bring its all-fibre network to residential and business customers across Southern Ontario. Reporting to the VP, Sales, the Outside Sales Representative (Residential Sales) is responsible for generating new residential customers by promoting and selling telMAX's industry-leading internet, TV, and home phone services directly within assigned communities. This is a field-based, face-to-face sales role for someone who is confident, resilient, and motivated by achieving results. Rather than waiting for leads, you'll proactively engage homeowners, build trust, identify customer needs, and recommend the best solutions for their homes. Telecommunications experience is not required. We will teach you our products, systems, and sales processes. What matters most is your confidence, work ethic, coachability, and determination to succeed. For successful representatives, this role offers on-target earnings (OTE) of approximately $100,000–$120,000 annually. Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build trust and connect with homeowners.
  • Confidence engaging customers through face-to-face conversations and asking for the sale.
  • Comfort with direct sales, canvassing, customer conversations, or in-person outreach.
  • Ability to accurately track sales activity, customer interactions, and follow-up using mobile sales tools or CRM systems (Sales Rabbit).
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and take ownership of your assigned territory.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, strong work ethic, and professional follow-through.
  • Comfort using mobile devices and sales applications to manage customer activity and results.
  • 1–2 years of experience in direct sales, outside sales, field sales, retail sales, customer acquisition, events and promotions, or customer service.
  • Previous door-to-door sales experience.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience using CRM software or mobile sales applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Telecommunications, internet, cable, or home services experience an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face residential sales within assigned neighbourhoods to generate new customers.
  • Introduce homeowners to telMAX's residential internet, TV, and home phone services.
  • Build rapport quickly, ask effective questions, and recommend solutions based on customer needs.
  • Actively canvass neighbourhoods, prospect for new business, and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Represent telMAX professionally while building positive relationships within the communities we serve.
  • Consistently achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals.
  • Accurately record customer interactions, sales activity, appointments, and pipeline updates using mobile sales tools and CRM systems to ensure data integrity and effective follow-up.
  • Stay current on products, pricing, promotions, competitive offerings, and market conditions.
  • Participate in team meetings, coaching sessions, sales training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership to continuously improve sales performance and customer engagement.
