About The Position

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be a hunter responsible for the entire sales cycle. This includes prospecting new business, leading a consultative sales process, and onboarding new customers in a rich and growing territory. The company provides a sales tool built on the Salesforce platform to help manage the sales pipeline. You will be taught about the waste industry, how service offerings fit market needs, and trained on understanding business challenges and how Waste Connections can solve them.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of solid business to business (B2B) sales experience is an asset
  • Experience with contract negotiations is required
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Must have own vehicle for business use

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Salesforce or comparable CRM tool is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Source new business opportunities daily through cold calling, networking, and other means to generate sales leads, in addition to inbound web leads.
  • Enter intelligence gathered and action items into the Salesforce system for pipeline management.
  • Negotiate mutual commitments for waste and recycling services for a set term longer than one year.
  • Work with operations and office resources to solve problems and ensure a smooth customer onboarding.
  • Travel to client locations, occasional industry conferences, and other events as necessary to meet with clients and prospects, or develop skillset.
