About The Position

Patene Building Supplies Ltd. is a leading distributor of drywall, steel framing components, insulation, acoustic ceilings, shingles, masonry, and other building materials for the residential and commercial construction industries. With thirteen (13) branch locations across Ontario and Manitoba, we are proud to support contractors, builders, and retail customers with quality products and exceptional service. We are currently seeking a motivated, results-oriented, and energetic individual for the position of Outside Sales Representative – Southwestern Ontario (London Branch Office). Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Previous outside sales experience required, preferably within the construction or building materials industry
  • Strong knowledge of building materials and their applications; experience with drywall, insulation, roofing, masonry, or related products is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications
  • Experience performing material take-offs and preparing project estimates is highly desirable
  • Post-secondary education in a construction-related field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology) is considered a strong asset
  • Trade background or hands-on experience in the construction industry is highly valued
  • Positive, outgoing, and professional attitude with a strong customer focus
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and results-driven with a proven ability to meet or exceed targets
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Southwestern Ontario

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure ongoing business and customer satisfaction
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new customer accounts within the assigned territory
  • Provide professional, timely, and effective solutions to customer inquiries and project needs
  • Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, and product recommendations
  • Review construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify project opportunities
  • Complete material take-offs and assist customers with product selection and project planning
  • Provide technical support, product knowledge, and relevant literature to customers
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager and internal teams to meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly
  • Contribute to branch sales objectives and be accountable for achieving individual sales targets
