About The Position

Kristian Electric is seeking a motivated and technically knowledgeable Outside Sales Representative to support customers in the welding, fabrication, and industrial cutting sectors. This role involves working directly with clients seeking welding machines, plasma cutters, consumables, accessories, and related services from top manufacturers. The representative will maintain and expand customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, support technical product selection, and represent Kristian Electric as a trusted industry partner.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in an industrial or technical environment.
  • Excellent communication, listening, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build long-lasting relationships.
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and professional integrity.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Windows, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (or company vehicle).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience selling Miller, Lincoln Electric, ESAB, Hobart, Hypertherm, or similar industrial equipment.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (welding, industrial technology, business, or similar) preferred.
  • Strong technical understanding of welding processes (MIG/TIG/Stick), plasma cutting, and industrial fabrication equipment.
  • Hands-on familiarity with welding equipment, shop fabrication environments, and consumables.
  • Background in welding, industrial service, fabrication, or mechanical trades.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow sales with existing welding and fabrication clients.
  • Identify and proactively solicit new customers in industrial, commercial, and fabrication markets.
  • Assess customer needs and assist in selecting appropriate welding machines, plasma cutters, consumables, and accessories.
  • Present, demonstrate, and explain equipment features and capabilities—including MIG, TIG, Stick, Multiprocess welders, and CNC & handheld plasma cutting systems.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage sales terms.
  • Develop proposals, presentations, and material to highlight the benefits of equipment and services.
  • Provide insight into product variations or configurations needed to match customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment concerns and coordinate technical support when needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical product knowledge across major brands (Miller, Lincoln, ESAB, Hobart, Hypertherm).
  • Administer sales contracts, maintain CRM records, and report on sales activities and strategies.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging trends in the welding and fabrication industry.
  • Support project-based sales (welding packages, fleet upgrades, shop renovations, etc.).
