About The Position

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative, responsible for growing business and selling our product line in a specific territory. Our primary product lines, nationwide, include hardwood lumber, veneer, plywood, millwork, and cabinetry.

Requirements

  • Interest in working for a company that values hard work and loyalty.
  • Competitive with a drive to win!
  • A minimum of 6-10 years sales experience, ideally in an outside sales or territory sales representative role, and ideally in the construction sales industry or building materials industry.
  • Knowledge of millwork and understanding of 2-step distribution.
  • Ability to travel as needed throughout the territory.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle, subject to routine drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DMSi Agility software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sell our products to current customers in the region through a focus on customer service.
  • Manage sales throughout the territory and customer base.
  • Grow sales by increasing our customer base to new customers.
  • Call on potential new customers throughout the territory.
  • Communicate the needs of the customer with the branch to better ensure optimized product mix and increase future sales.
  • Communicate with inside sales staff to ensure a coordinated and synchronized sales effort.
  • Lead the conversation and develop our business through sales growth and customer service.
  • Accompany vendors' sales representatives as needed, calling on appropriate customer accounts to satisfy vendor concerns.
