Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales, account management, or other relationship-driven sales roles
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience preparing take-offs, estimates, and bids preferred
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to effectively manage time in a field-based role
  • Customer-focused and results-oriented, with a commitment to serving others and upholding Nation's Best values
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing demands
  • Willingness to travel locally to meet with customers and prospects
  • Valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hardware, home improvement, construction, building materials, or a related industry strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, remodelers, roofers, and other key customers
  • Prospect for new business opportunities and grow existing accounts to increase sales and gross profit
  • Manage a consistent pipeline of opportunities within the assigned territory to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Conduct regular job site visits to identify customer needs and provide solutions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing product recommendations, new product updates, market insights, promotions, and industry expertise
  • Maintain technical and product knowledge to effectively support customers and answer questions
  • Read and interpret blueprints to prepare take-offs, bids, estimates, and material lists as needed
  • Negotiate and close sales opportunities with prospective and existing customers
  • Coordinate pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Prepare and enter customer orders accurately and manage them through completion
  • Assist with accounts receivable collections and follow up on outstanding balances as needed
  • Partner closely with store and operations teams to ensure excellent service, communication, and follow-through
  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused presence that reflects Nation's Best values
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned in support of store and company objectives
