About The Position

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth to assigned strategic customers within their vertical market. Due to the technical nature of the products sold, this position requires a sales professional who can drive new applications of engineered products into specific strategic accounts and markets; not just sell against existing suppliers in existing applications. Need to sell MW’s value stream and branding.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, nurture, sell and close new sales opportunities within their market.
  • Prior experience in engineer-to-engineer sales processes.
  • Must have sufficient technical/engineering strength to understand and address the complex needs of customers in their industry and must be fully conversant in the requirements of quality systems applicable to their industry.
  • Successful candidates should have strategic alliances with several key contacts in their vertical marketplace.
  • Proven ability to identify and fill a sales funnel of new sales opportunities. Includes activities such as cold calling, prospecting at trade shows and following up on marketing leads.
  • Must have strong communications skills and the ability to create and deliver effective presentations to customers.
  • Serves as the communications liaison between customers and manufacturing locations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years technical selling experience.
  • Experience within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes strategic sales processes to drive growth and retain strategic accounts by leveraging solutions across their market segment.
  • Effectively utilizes CRM System/Sales Funnel tools, as well as Power BI.
  • Provides an Annual Sales Plan/Forecast to support business growth, operating budget at site levels and strategic planning objectives.
  • Establishes account prioritization and planning to drive growth for assigned accounts and monitors progress with bi-weekly status, at a minimum.
  • Develop account plans for new logo’s – “like for like” Customer’s and maintains 30 / 60 / 90-day plans.
  • Manages new and existing accounts, providing service and contractual support.
  • Makes frequent direct sales calls to drive growth, retention and profitability.
  • Identifies and penetrates new accounts to drive incremental new business volume and profitability.
  • Hunts for new business opportunities in line with current manufacturing capabilities.
  • Recommends, investigates and documents new product opportunities.
  • Works with Engineering to quote new projects while defining market conditions for applicable project.
  • Assists with advertising and sales promotion programs and participates in trade shows and industry activities.
  • Produces effective verbal and written communication for activities and sales reports, customer correspondence, etc.
  • Forges effective communication and working relationships with MW site Inside Sales Representatives or Customer Service Representatives and supports/backfills as required.
