About The Position

Fresh Coat Painters of Muskegon is an award-winning painting company serving residential and commercial customers throughout West Michigan. We are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences, high-quality workmanship, and professional service from start to finish. We are growing and looking for a motivated, self-driven Outside Sales Representative who wants to play a key role in helping our company continue to expand. This is not just an estimating position. While a large part of the role involves meeting with customers and preparing project proposals, we are looking for someone who can also help generate new opportunities, build relationships in the community, and contribute ideas that help grow the business. If you enjoy meeting people, solving problems, building relationships, and helping customers improve their homes and businesses, we'd love to meet you.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Comfortable meeting new people and networking
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong follow-up and time management skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Comfortable using technology, tablets, and CRM systems
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outside sales, business development, estimating, construction, home services, or related industries
  • Experience with painting or construction is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Meet with residential and commercial customers to understand project needs
  • Conduct on-site consultations and gather project information
  • Prepare detailed estimates and proposals
  • Present solutions and answer customer questions
  • Follow up consistently on open proposals
  • Track opportunities through the sales pipeline
  • Maintain strong close rates and sales goals
  • Coordinate with production staff to ensure smooth project handoffs
  • Build relationships with referral partners, property managers, contractors, realtors, and local businesses
  • Attend networking events, chamber functions, trade shows, and community events
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Develop creative ideas and strategies to increase sales
  • Help execute marketing and lead-generation initiatives
  • Represent Fresh Coat Painters professionally within the community
  • Deliver a professional and consultative customer experience
  • Maintain prompt communication with prospects and customers
  • Uphold Fresh Coat Painters' reputation for quality and professionalism
  • Ensure customers feel informed and confident throughout the sales process
