About The Position

The Outside Account Manager plays a critical role in driving profitable growth for AmerCable across the Western U.S. region. This role is accountable for expanding sales through end‑user specification, effective channel management, and strong collaboration with internal teams. By building demand, influencing specifications, and strengthening distributor and agent relationships, this position directly supports AmerCable’s strategic growth objectives and market presence.

Requirements

  • University degree
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar sales or account management role
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification

Responsibilities

  • Grow Sales and Market Presence: Build sales within an assigned geography or market segment by targeting end users and generating product specifications for AmerCable solutions. Conduct customer visits and meetings to develop demand and strengthen relationships. Deliver technical presentations to engineers and other key stakeholders.
  • Channel and Distribution Management: Develop and manage a channel distribution strategy to capture end‑user demand across the region. Support distributors through training and joint customer visits. Coordinate account activities with the Inside Sales Representative to ensure alignment.
  • Account and Agent Management: Manage assigned regional or market‑based accounts. Lead and support a network of Sales Agents to expand distribution and drive end‑user demand. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders through in‑person and virtual engagement. Develop and execute a regional sales plan and roadmap. Maintain visibility in the market by participating in industry events, committees, and networking opportunities.
  • Reporting and Commercial Support: Maintain detailed customer profiles and provide monthly updates, visit reports, and status reports to the team. Assist with the preparation of customer quotes in alignment with financial plans and approval requirements.
  • Marketing and Market Intelligence Support: Gather and share insights on new product opportunities, competitive activity, industry trends, market size, and new entrants. Maintain accurate and complete customer records within the AmerCable CRM system. Attend regional and local trade shows to support brand presence and market awareness.
  • Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities: Complete annual performance self‑appraisals and objective setting in Success Factors. Prepare and monitor regional budgets and manage expenses in line with the annual plan. Fulfill AmerCable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and promote a culture of Incident and Injury Free (IIF). Maintain compliance with AmerCable Ethics and Bill 198 policies and procedures.
