Requirements

  • 3-7 years of successful outside sales or business development experience, with a proven track record of new customer acquisition.
  • Proven success navigating complex sales cycles and closing higher-value opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities.
  • High comfort level with technology, including CRM tools, mobile devices, and digital sales resources.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

  • Strong experience in construction, building materials, wholesale distribution, or a related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sustained new business growth by prospecting, identifying, and securing new customer opportunities across the assigned territory.
  • Sell exterior building products, including roofing, siding, windows, and waterproofing materials, to contractors, builders, and commercial customers.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales, margin, and expectations for up to approximately 20-30 new customer wins annually through disciplined pipeline and opportunity management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers, influencers, and industry partners to expand market presence.
  • Conduct in-depth, in-person sales calls, jobsite visits, and customer meetings to assess needs and position value-based solutions.
  • Navigate more complex sales cycles, including larger opportunities, multi-location customers, and competitive environments.
  • Partner closely with branch operations, supply chain, and customer support teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new customers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activity, opportunities, and pipeline in Salesforce or other CRM tools.
  • Proactively analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Execute effective handoffs of newly secured accounts to Account Executives, ensuring continuity and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a role model for prospecting discipline, professionalism, and sales execution within the field.
  • Continue to deepen product knowledge, technical expertise, and consultative selling skills.
  • Travel extensively within the assigned market to pursue and close new business opportunities.
