About The Position

As our Outside Sales Representative, your mission is to grow NTE's business by building trusted customer relationships, identifying rental needs, and connecting customers with safe, reliable equipment solutions. You will own activity within an assigned territory, spend significant time in the field, and partner closely with branch teams to deliver on customer commitments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably within equipment rental, industrial services, construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, or a related industry.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and possess a valid driver's license for more than 3 years with a moderately clean driving record.
  • Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, account management, and achieving sales goals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, relationship-building, and customer-service skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms; experience with Salesforce and RentalMan is preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of industrial sales and customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a focused territory plan for existing and prospective customers.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule of purposeful customer engagement, including prospecting, account reviews, jobsite visits, and follow-up meetings.
  • Build new customer relationships, expand active accounts, and pursue opportunities that support profitable territory growth.
  • Keep a healthy pipeline by identifying next steps, monitoring opportunity progress, and maintaining accurate activity and forecasting records.
  • Plan customer meetings with clear objectives and follow through on commitments in a timely manner.
  • Understand customer applications and coordinate appropriate equipment and service solutions.
  • Visit customer facilities and project sites to assess needs, gather job requirements, and recommend practical rental solutions.
  • Prepare proposals, support pricing discussions, and maintain strong relationships throughout the rental lifecycle.
  • Use CRM tools consistently to document customer interactions, manage accounts and opportunities, and maintain forward-looking follow-up activity.
  • Communicate customer demand, timing, job requirements, and service expectations to branch teams.
  • Work with sales coordinators, operations, service, and transportation to support safe and successful execution.
  • Address service concerns promptly and coordinate responsible resolutions that protect long-term customer relationships.
  • Support collection efforts by maintaining customer contact and partnering internally on past-due account follow-up when needed.
  • Follow customer-site, driving, company, and safety requirements at all times.
  • Maintain assigned PPE, tools, and equipment in a safe and operational condition. May occasionally operate company vehicles and transport pumps and related equipment in support of business operations.
  • Keep the company-provided vehicle clean, professional, and suitable for customer and jobsite visits.
  • Represent NTE professionally and accurately in every customer, branch, and field interaction.
