About The Position

The Outside Sales Representative - Preventive Maintenance sells HVAC and plumbing maintenance agreements through cold calling, prospecting, lead generating, and establishing relationships with prospective clients. This role involves executing business development action plans, monitoring sales activities, and providing input on prospect programs and needs. The representative will also appraise and inventory systems components, evaluate general conditions, and recommend maintenance solutions, while recognizing and passing on project opportunities. Team collaboration is key, including riding along with Service Technicians to understand services and building positive working relationships with field, office, and management personnel.

Requirements

  • 2+ years new business development and sales experience.
  • 2+ years proven ability to strategize, present, and close sales.
  • 1+ years prospecting and appointment setting/cold calling
  • 3+ years Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or construction management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sells HVAC and plumbing maintenance agreements through cold calling, prospecting, lead generating, and establishing relationships with prospective clients.
  • Makes cold calls through various media as required in representatives’ specific area or as designated by Sales Manager and/or General Manager.
  • Emphasizes product features based on analyses of customers' needs and company service capabilities.
  • Computes customer's owning and operating costs pertaining to HVAC, plumbing, and energy.
  • Estimates savings from new service agreements.
  • Executes business development action plans for defined vertical markets.
  • Monitors sales activities through CRM.
  • May be assigned to represent one segment of the company in a specialized market.
  • Provides input and feedback on issues relevant to prospect programs and needs.
  • Accurately appraises and inventories systems components, evaluates general conditions and recommends the best maintenance solution.
  • Recognizes project opportunities and passes leads to appropriate personnel.
  • Rides along with Service Technicians to develop relationships and acquire an understanding of services that company provides.
  • Builds and maintains rapport and positive working relations with field, office, and management personnel to resolve problems, exploit opportunities, and maximize profits.
