About The Position

Drives profitable sales growth for an assigned geosynthetics territory while serving as the branch’s primary field-based sales partner. Develops new contractor and customer relationships, expands business with existing accounts, and identifies project opportunities from planning and bidding through delivery. Coordinates with inside sales, operations, manufacturers, and technical resources to deliver responsive customer service and appropriate product solutions. Maintains an active pipeline and is accountable for sales, gross margin, new-account, and territory-growth objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Outside sales, business development, account management, or related customer-facing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships, negotiate, and close business.
  • Ability to read and work from plans, specifications, bid documents, and material requirements.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to spend significant time in the field and travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of outside sales, business development, or account management experience
  • Experience in geosynthetics, erosion and sediment control, heavy civil construction products, environmental products, site development, stormwater, construction supply, or industrial distribution
  • A demonstrated ability to open new accounts and generate revenue through prospecting and territory development
  • Experience building relationships with contractors, engineers, municipalities, or other project stakeholders
  • A track record of identifying opportunities, managing project-based sales cycles, and delivering results

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory plan that grows geosynthetics sales, gross profit, market share, and new-account activity.
  • Prospect for and open new contractor and customer accounts while expanding sales within existing branch relationships.
  • Build productive relationships with contractors, estimators, project managers, purchasing teams, engineers, owners, and other decision-makers.
  • Identify projects early and pursue opportunities through planning, specification, bidding, award, construction, and material delivery.
  • Conduct regular customer, prospect, and jobsite visits throughout the assigned territory to uncover needs and advance opportunities.
  • Recommend commodity and value-added geosynthetic solutions based on project requirements, plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotes, bids, and proposals in partnership with branch inside sales and manufacturer resources.
  • Coordinate with branch operations, warehouse, delivery, vendors, and technical partners to support accurate, timely project execution.
  • Track projects, bid opportunities, competitive activity, and customer commitments; maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast.
  • Resolve customer service issues by partnering with branch and functional teams and communicating clear next steps to customers.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales, gross-margin, new-account, retention, and territory-growth objectives.
  • Travel within the assigned territory and pursue strategic regional opportunities when aligned with branch capacity and business priorities.
