About The Position

Ferguson, a Fortune 500 company and a leading supplier of quality supplies since 1953, is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative-Facilities Supply. This role focuses on managing and growing an existing customer portfolio while actively developing new business within the MultiFamily, Hospitality, Senior Living, or Education Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) and Renovations sectors. The position requires a consultative and data-driven approach, with a strong understanding of MRO solutions and the ability to build trusted relationships. The role is primarily field-based, involving face-to-face customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of outside sales experience within the Multifamily vertical, ideally in the MRO, distribution, or manufacturing space.
  • Proven success working with Property Managers, Regional Managers, Facility/Maintenance Supervisors, and Maintenance Technicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, analytics, and CRM tools to drive sales growth and manage pipeline performance.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with a track record of growing existing accounts and winning new business.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
  • Strong problem-solving, active listening, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong overall digital literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and an assigned customer base, ensuring customer satisfaction from order to delivery.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base by developing sales strategies and targeting new accounts.
  • Perform duties including product quotation and problem resolution.
  • Analyze competition within the territory, devise sales strategies, and communicate them to management.
  • Continuously improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image.
  • Manage and grow relationships with an assigned base of Multifamily customers and key vendor partners.
  • Increase share of wallet by identifying customer needs and delivering tailored MRO solutions to active, new, and inactive accounts.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnering with management to develop and execute territory and account strategies.
  • Create and execute territory and account plans aligned with sales objectives, leveraging data, CRM insights, and competitive analysis.
  • Maintain a healthy, accurate sales pipeline that balances customer satisfaction with profitable growth.
  • Monitor competitive activity and communicate market insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Continuously enhance product knowledge and sales skills to maintain a professional, credible presence in the field.
