About The Position

As an Outside Sales Engineer, you will grow your territory (and your earnings) by bringing in new opportunities and developing repeat business within your existing accounts. This will require that you call on engineers, contractors, project managers, and others to determine their needs and specifications through a consultative approach. Hughes Machinery Company has provided extensive engineering services for boiler and heat transfer, steam production and distribution, and process flow control for commercial, industrial, and utility projects for nearly 100 years. FCX Performance/Hughes Machinery is a division of FCX Performance/an Applied Industrial Technologies Company and a leading process flow control company.

Requirements

Experience with boiler, steam, water heating, and thermal transfer systems
Proven ability to work with engineers and contractors to identify solutions for project requirements
Knowledge of steam-related valves, traps, pumps, controls, instrumentation
Computer proficiency including MS office

Nice To Haves

Hands-on involvement installing/commissioning steam boilers and water heaters a plus
Knowledge of air heating and MUA systems a plus
SAP/ERP/P-21 a plus!

Achieve sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and by discovering new opportunities.
Grow your network of engineers and contractors in your assigned territory.
Selling engineered heating/hot water systems within the industrial sector.
Achieve sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and by opening new businesses.
Conduct sales and service activities, develop strong customer relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products and services.
Organize and conduct product training sessions for customers.
Complete reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads, and other related matters.
