About The Position

Branom Instrument Company, a leading manufacturers’ representative and master distributor in process instrumentation and industrial automation, is seeking a proactive and independent Outside Sales Engineer/Representative to join their growing team. This role will be based remotely in the Arizona region, with the selected candidate required to reside in or relocate to the territory. The position involves managing customer relationships, providing technical sales support, and determining customer pricing strategies for various manufacturers within the assigned Arizona territory. Responsibilities span the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to after-sales support, including identifying opportunities, delivering presentations, developing client relationships, and overseeing product commissioning support. The role also requires utilizing the company CRM (Odoo) for database management, project tracking, and reporting, as well as collaborating with Inside Sales and Technical Support teams to meet customer needs. Travel throughout the assigned territory is essential for meeting with customers, demonstrating products, and providing technical advice. The company emphasizes fostering great relationships and offers market-leading products from over 100 companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with a preference for a degree in a science, math or engineering curriculum.
  • At least 3 years of sales experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data and information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database software, Project Management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be based in Arizona.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a favorable driving abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relationships within the assigned Arizona territory.
  • Provide technical sales support and determine customer pricing strategies.
  • Identify opportunities and product specifications.
  • Deliver presentations to end users, facility engineering, and maintenance personnel.
  • Develop relationships and interact with client purchasing departments.
  • Oversee product commissioning support.
  • Utilize company CRM (Odoo) to maintain customer database, track projects and opportunities, and produce accurate performance reports.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and Technical Support to determine customers’ needs.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or technical application advice.
  • Display or demonstrate product, using samples, electronic or printed literature and emphasizing salable features.
  • Quote price, credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained with assistance from Inside Sales teammate.
  • Estimate dates of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts within 30 days of date of expense.
  • Penetrate all target accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems and deliveries.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Attend tradeshows, training and other meetings on behalf of the company.
  • Coordinate customer training.
