This is a temporary position for an Outside Plant Technician. The role involves providing customer care, working with heavy-duty power equipment and small tools for the installation, repair, and maintenance of outside plant facilities. Responsibilities include loading equipment, receiving work assignments, operating various power equipment and aerial lifts, performing construction tasks like digging and pole placement, handling and splicing cables (including fiber optic), using test equipment for gas detection and cable testing, dismantling and removing equipment, interpreting work orders, working outdoors in various weather conditions, climbing poles and ladders, entering confined spaces, and following safety procedures. The technician must be able to safely use equipment and meet manufacturer specifications, including weight limitations. They will also work with fiber optic cable, color-coded wires, and various types of cable splicing and testing. The role requires troubleshooting and maintaining digital carrier equipment and terminals, and using electrical instruments to identify defects. The position is located in Cocoa, Florida.
