About The Position

New York Bus Sales, the largest authorized Blue Bird School Bus dealership in New York State, is seeking an Outside Parts Sales Representative for their Chittenango, NY location. The company provides safe, dependable buses and professional services. This role is primarily focused on increasing parts sales and market share within an assigned territory by visiting customers, building relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and closing deals. The representative will act as the liaison for G-Tech Parts, communicating business barriers and contributing to their resolution.

Requirements

  • College Degree or Equivalent Work Experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Make good business decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
  • Sufficient speech and hearing for regular, professional, in person, and telephone communication with all customers, other employees and supervisors.
  • Understand oral and written company and industry correspondence sufficiently to communicate with customers and participate in all other parts Department activities.
  • Write or type sufficiently to communicate with customers and vendors.
  • Perform numeric calculations accurately when calculating prices and sales for customers.
  • Must have current NYS driver's license and provide proof of insurance carried on personal vehicle while performing company business.
  • Have transportation to/from other NYBS facilities, customer locations, seminars, workshops to perform duties as required.
  • Be safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices to prevent injuries to self and others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best in class customer service.
  • Keep current on product updates, new products, and new product lines.
  • Meet and exceed Department and territory objectives such as sales quotas, gross profit requirements, etc. by taking a proactive approach to achieve those goals.
  • Be aware of, assist, and be the primary leader in the completion and submission of customer bids and other quotations for sales opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Manage assigned territory and accounts to increase parts sales and market share.
  • Act as the authority for all things pertaining to their assigned customers, understanding their business, purchasing habits, and relationship with the Department.
  • Give presentations and reports relating to their customer to Department Management.
  • Proactively look for sales opportunities among assigned and potential customers.
  • Ensure the Department is maximizing the potential market share of the customers total business and searching for ways to unseat the competition.
  • Strategically plan and prioritize efforts, schedule, and sales tactics to maximally utilize time and resources.
  • Regularly visit customer locations to establish, maintain, and grow relationships.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email.
  • Work with manufacturer and other representatives to increase customer relationships and sales success.
  • Provide customers a consistent effort by maintaining a routine and scheduling time with customers.
  • Identify and maintain a roster of potential clients who are not officially assigned to the territory to deal with customer attrition and accounts that show little successful sales results.
  • Give presentations regarding the Parts Department and its offerings to current and potential clients.
  • Work with Department management and other employees to ensure customer needs are met, including coordinating with the inventory team.
  • Make full use of the CRM platform – Zoho.
  • Record all customer visits and other significant contact with the customer before the end of the business day that the contact/visit occurred.
  • Record follow ups, business quotations in the system to ensure team collaboration and that all tasks are properly executed.
  • Maintain current and accurate contact information for each account such as customer name, title, email address and phone number.
  • Learn and regularly use business intelligence tools such as Power BI to review purchasing trends, customer service and other needs related to assigned customers.
  • Follow established Company policy and Department procedures and workflows to complete tasks.
  • Assist other work areas when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
