About The Position

The Outside Parts Sales Representative is responsible for selling products from the Parts Department, Service Department, and Body Shop. This role involves generating quotes, following up on leads, promoting vehicle sales, and maintaining regular contact with customers. The representative will also stay updated on customer vehicle statuses in the Service Department or Body Shop and manage the return of customer parts or cores, including completing necessary paperwork. Communication with the Warehouse Manager regarding expected returns and maintaining updated Customer Profile sheets are also key responsibilities. The role utilizes company vehicles and performance analysis tools to grow sales and increase penetration of maintenance parts. Generating new customer leads is an essential part of the job.

Requirements

  • Must be at their first customer no later than 8 am.
  • Must leave their last customer no earlier than 5 pm.
  • Must complete all necessary paperwork for returns (RGA, Core Tags, Warranty Requests).
  • Must maintain updated Customer Profile sheets.
  • Must complete Customer Profile sheets for each visit.
  • Must communicate with the Warehouse Manager regarding expected returns.
  • Must stay updated on customer vehicles in Service/Body Shop and communicate status.
  • Must maintain contact with customers between visits.
  • Must generate new customer leads.

Responsibilities

  • Sell products of the Parts Department, Service Department, and the Body Shop.
  • Generate quotes for products sold in the Parts Department, Service Department, and the Body Shop.
  • Follow up on leads and quotes generated by the Parts Department, Service Department, and the Body Shop.
  • Promote Vehicle Sales, gather leads and provide them to the Vehicle Sales Manager and Parts Manager.
  • Visit each customer with the frequency required by customer, but no less than every other week.
  • Maintain contact with customers between visits.
  • Remain updated regarding customer vehicles in the Service Department or Body Shop and keep customers updated on their status.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork when returning customer parts or cores to the dealership (e.g., RGA, Core Tags, Warranty Requests).
  • Communicate with the Warehouse Manager regarding expected returns of new parts or cores from customers.
  • Maintain updated Customer Profile sheets for each customer visited.
  • Complete Customer Profile sheets (which double as Call Sheets) for each visit.
  • Utilize provided analysis tools to grow total sales and increase penetration of maintenance parts.
  • Generate new customer leads.
